How It's Used

"As we churn through ruffled water, with the moon beginning to lift over Greenwich Village, other yachts float by. On one, formal ladies and tuxedoed men are frugging to disco - a wedding party, no doubt. On another, teenagers hang on each other in what looks to be a lavish sweet sixteen. On our craft, heading toward the Statue of Liberty, is a celebration distinctly our own."

—Roy Hoffman, "A Harbor Voyage Encompassing the Years," The New York Times, September 14, 2004.

“There were sentimental moments, too.  Pictures from the Sweet Sixteen party of Frank Santora’s daughter were shown on a big screen:  of Lou Eppolito, looking much healthier, lighting candles and dancing with the birthday girl…”

—Ben McGrath, “Kiss City:  The Unmaking of the Mafia Cops,” The New Yorker, May 1, 2006, p. 61.
