Shichinin no samurai

"Shichinin no samurai" is a samurai film released in 1954 that was directed by Akira Kurosawa, who also directed such films as "Rashomon" (1950), "Yojimbo" (1961), and "Ran" (1986). It is consistently ranked among the best films of all time and has influenced many directors and writers over the years. Most directly, the film was remade as "The Magnificent Seven" (1960), a Western that was directed by John Sturges.
