The Pleiades is a star cluster in the Taurus constellation. Because it is so clear to the naked eye due to its proximity to Earth, it has been known and named since ancient times by various civilizations and cultures. The stars are named, based on Greek Mythology, for the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione, which are also used as the names of stars in the cluster.
The list of the stars above is in order of apparent magnitude.
