The LPGA, or Ladies Professional Golf Association, is an organization for professional female golfers in the United States that runs golf tournaments known as the LPGA Tour.
How It's Used
"The words 'revolution' and 'golf' just don’t look right together. And yet the LPGA — the women’s half of the sport that gave us whispery announcers and polite half-claps — has effectively toppled its leadership thanks to a groundswell of angry players. Carolyn Bivens resigned as LPGA president Monday and was replaced with former Navy rear admiral Marsha Evans. It was a bloodless coup — you were expecting Juli Inkster leading a column of Cossacks? — but clearly a coup nonetheless."
