The Five Branches of the Rothschild Family Posted August 11, 2009 @ 11:14 am In Five,Numbers | No Comments The five sons of Mayer Amschel Rothschild [1] (1744-1812), the founder of the Rothschild Bank in Frankfurt, Germany, each lead a branch of the bank in five different European cities. The family insignia of five intertwined arrows reflects this structure. The five sons and their respective branch location are:

"Mayer Amschel, founder of the Rothschild banking dynasty, started out buying and selling old coins in a Frankfurt Jewish ghetto in the late 1700s and built an embryonic banking business by extending credit to clients. In the early 1800s, he sent his five sons to establish bases in London, Paris, Naples and Vienna, in addition to Frankfurt."
