The terms of this Privacy Policy are incorporated into the eAlmanac Terms of Use (the “Terms”). All capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meanings set forth in the Terms. By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
- General. eAlmanac is committed to protecting your privacy when you visit the Site. During your use of the Site, you may choose to provide information about yourself. For example, if you choose to subscribe to our email list, you must provide us with your name and email address. Please note that nowhere on the Site do we knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Each time you visit the Site or provide us with information, you agree to and accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
- Modification of Privacy Policy. The terms of this Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time as new features are added to the Site or as we incorporate suggestions from our users. Please review this Privacy Policy periodically, as we may update it from time to time. If we propose to use or disclose your personal information in a manner materially different from that stated at the time we collected such information, you will be notified of such proposed changes and will have a choice as to whether or not we use or disclose your information in the proposed manner.
- Use of Personal Information. eAlmanac only collects personal information from users who choose to subscribe to our email list. eAlmanac does not share any personal information concerning its users with third parties, nor do we plan to do so. eAlmanac also does not share any information about the viewing habits of its users with third parties. Should we decide to share this type of information in the future, we will do so in aggregate form only, thus protecting users’ individual information.
- Disclosure to Governmental Entities. We reserve the right to disclose specific contact information when we determine that such disclosure is necessary to comply with law, to cooperate with or seek assistance from law enforcement or to protect the interests or safety of eAlmanac or of other users of the Site.
- Use of Cookies and Other Site Tracking Data.
5.1 Cookies. A “cookie” is a small file saved on your computer’s hard drive that contains non-personal information. One purpose of cookies is to give you faster access to pages you have already visited. Cookies also allow you to personalize your pages, and optimize your experience at the Site. We may use cookies to help us figure out how many people visit the Site, which portions of the Site they visit, and how long such visits last. This information will help us figure out which of the features we offer are successful and where there is room for improvement. You can disable cookies on your computer by indicating this in the preferences or options menus in your browser, however, disabling cookies may prevent you from properly using the Site. eAlmanac does not currently use cookies, but we reserve the right to do so in the future in our sole discretion.
5.2 Session IDs. “Session IDs” allow us to identify a particular user across multiple web page requests. This Session ID is maintained within your cookie file, where possible. If cookies are not enabled, or if your internet browser does not support cookies then we will place the Session ID in the requested web page. The Session ID expires when you close your internet browser.
5.3 Website Tracking, Reporting. Some pages of the Site contain special electronic images (“gifs”) that allow us to gather non-personally identifiable traffic statistics and other aggregate information about visitors to the Site. We may use this technology to collect and accumulate anonymous data to help us understand and analyze the experiences of visitors to the Site and to customize your future visits and improve the Site. We also record the number of visits, paths taken, and time spent on certain pages within the Site. None of this information is personally identifiable and none of this information is distributed outside of eAlmanac.
5.4 IP Address. Each time you visit the Site, we automatically collect your IP address and the web page from which you came. We use this information to administer and optimize the Site for you and to diagnose problems with the Site, as well as to identify you and gather broad demographic information about you.
5.5 Banner Ads. The Site may include the use of ad banner partners for the serving and/or targeting of ads, promotions, and other marketing messages. These ads may be provided, in some cases, by a third party ad service provider. The ad service provider may place or utilize its own unique cookie on your browser, and may use non-personally identifiable information about your visit to our sites, such as the number of times you have viewed the ad. These companies may use non-personally identifiable information about your visits to the Site in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We are not responsible for the collection of these cookies and are not responsible for the actions of the ad service providers or any other third parties. We do not sponsor, endorse or guarantee any products or services advertised by third parties on the Site.
5.6 Links. In order to provide more relevant advertising and monitor bandwidth usage, we may gather data from the referer logs that identify where and how frequently content hosted on our servers is being displayed on third party sites.
- Information from Other Sites. We may place links to third party websites and may include information and links to third party websites in our emails. For example, when you purchase a product advertized in the eAlmanac Store, you will be linked to the Amazon.com website to fulfill your order. When you click on these links and visit these other websites, regardless of whether or not they contain our brand names, trademarks and other intellectual property, you need to be aware that we do not control these other websites or these other websites’ business practices, and that this Privacy Policy and the Terms do not apply to these other websites. The operators of these other websites may collect different kinds of information about you, and may use and disclose that information in different ways than we would if it were collected on the Site. Please review the privacy policies of other sites that you visit. We will not be responsible for the actions of any third parties.
- Security Precautions. We have security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of our Site content and other information under our control. We encrypt your personal information as it travels over the Internet and we store your personal information on our servers in encrypted form. Your information may be transferred to and maintained in whole or in part on computer networks which may be located outside of the state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction in which you reside, and may be stored on equipment or in facilities leased or licensed from third parties. No data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We strive to protect your personal information and make all commercially reasonable efforts to do so; however, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your personal information, we make our commercially reasonable best efforts to ensure its security on our systems.
